Isle of Wight Guided Walking Holiday
Saturday 19th June 2010
We have been asked many times if we could arrange guided walks on the Isle of Wight which would take in the best parts but stay in one place. This year we have take the plunge and put together our first guided walk. Over the last few weeks we have been devising the routes and have walked and then re-walked them to ensure they offer the best in walking terrain the Island has to offer. The first three walks provide some of the best walking conditions on the Island. The climb to the top of the downs can be quite testing but never to long. The spectacular views and abundant wild flowers make it an absolute joy. Each of the walks has a wonderful pub half way round to be able to relax and have a bite to eat before setting off in the afternoon. The last days walk is a fantastic mix of marsh land and countryside views before joining the coastal path and crossing headon warren a wonderful reserve where you feel lost to the rest of the world with hidden path crossing heather, bracken and wild flowers before emerging to the glorious view of the Needles. The guided walks will be running in Sept and October then again next spring. Based in the beautiful coastal town of Shanklin on the east side of the Island. There are 4 walking days each of between 8 and 9 miles and a rest day in the middle. On each walk you will be led by one of our team who will be delighted to share with you their local knowledge.
