Walking Festival 2010
Monday 5th April 2010
The Isle of Wight hosts popular walking festivals during May and October each year, attracting walkers from all over the world. Now in its twelfth year with over 300 walks, over 16 days and it is the biggest in the UK.The Isle of Wight is one of the best destinations in the UK for walkers with over 500 miles of well maintained footpaths, 60 miles of dramatic coastline and unspoilt countryside.
I am excited to announce that the Wight Walks team are leading two walks during the May festival and one during the October walking weekend.
Look on the festival website www.isleofwightwalkingfestival.co.uk or pick up a walking booklet from Island Tourism offices where you will find comprehensive details of all the walks and our exciting competition where you can win a Wight Walks holiday!

This linear walk starts in the pretty village of Brighstone at the Three Bishops pub and finishes at the White Horse pub in the Village of Whitwell.
A fascinating walk, travelling along many quiet rarely used footpaths. You will walk up to the Hoy monument with its magnificent views and discover one of the Island’s two waterfalls tucked away on a hillside. There will be an opportunity to stop for lunch in a café in Chale .
